Description from the seller
Beautiful porcelain soup tureen, produced by Richard Ginori, model "Vecchio Ginori" with elegant black floral decal.
The origins of the sinuous style, characteristic of all Vecchio Ginori porcelains, are lost in the course of the 18th century. History has left us a small but meaningful detail: an expression by which this form was commonly referred to. A precious heritage of the past that allows us to perceive even today the greatness and the strength that made it immune, almost estranged, to the passage of centuries.
In Doccia, a magical place where our Ginori 1735 house was born, it was common to call that border a la sassonne that distinctive edging of the porcelain dinner sets and of all other objects that bore this name. A saying justified by the 18th-century Germanic tradition, according to which porcelains with reliefs similar to those of woven baskets were made. Not by chance, ozier is the slightly more technical term used to indicate this type of relief decoration, whose German-to-Italian translation exactly corresponds to "basket in wicker". A tradition that the masters of the Manufactury have embraced, making the weaves more delicate, the lines more sinuous, with a distinctly Italian taste and craftsmanship that has made immortal this simple yet elegant motif.
The tureen stands out for the relief work on the fine porcelain that makes the design classic and unmistakable. On the handle is modeled a pumpkin.
Excellent condition.
The tureen is still in production and is sold for 495.00 euros.
