Gorgeous- 19th-century Georgian era silver-plated soup tureen, likely crafted in the Rococo or Neoclassical style.
Material: It is typically made from Old Sheffield Plate, a process involving fusing copper and silver.
Design Features: The tureen features ornate embossed decoration, classical paw feet, and decorated handles.
Usage: These items served as decorative functional pieces for serving soup or sauce at formal dinners.
Victorian Silver Plated. Soup Tureen, circa 1850.
19th century Sheffield Plated oval soup tureen & cover with lid foliate handles. The tureen is raised on four lion paw feet with elaborate foliate, scroll and shell shoulders. The borders are gadrooned with shell decoration and the domed cover terminating in a naturalistic handle.

In excellent order with light surface wear commensurate with age.
