Montblanc Meisterstück Classique Gold Line ballpoint pen in black precious resin with gold-plated trim, 12 cm long and 1.2 cm in diameter, serial XH1504732, origin Germania, late 20th century, in excellent condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
Here we present an authentic icon of design and the culture of writing, the instrument that most embodies the classic elegance of the House of Hamburg: the Montblanc Meisterstück Classique Ballpoint Pen (Model 164) Gold Line.
The design of this model is universally recognized and has remained virtually unchanged for decades, a testament to its aesthetic perfection. The slender, cigar-shaped body is crafted in traditional deep black precious resin, mirror-polished to create an unmistakable and sophisticated contrast with the bright yellow gold-plated finishes. We find the classic teardrop clip and the three iconic concentric institutional rings, of which the central, thicker one bears the fine engraving "Montblanc Meisterstück." Crowning the pen’s summit, set into the resin, stands the unmistakable emblem of the six-point white star.
Technically speaking, the specimen is a highly convenient Ballpoint Pen. The nib exit is governed by the reliable, soft, and quiet continuous twist mechanism. As documented by the photographs showing the pen dismantled into its main components, replacing the refill (uses the classic Montblanc ballpoint refills) is performed in a simple and intuitive way by unscrewing the top from the barrel. On the clip ring, the alphanumeric serial code is regularly engraved to certify its authenticity.
The object’s state of preservation is to be considered generally excellent. The precious resin maintains a splendid luster and is structurally intact, completely free of cracks, chips, or falls; only the very slight and physiological micro-scratches (hairlines) visible in backlight, resulting from normal and careful use, are noted. The yellow gold plating is well preserved, shiny, and free of oxidation. The twist mechanism is smooth and impeccable.
