Rare small solid brass ember iron with a pointed sole, designed for pressing shirt collars, cuffs and fine lingerie.

The interior chamber is fed by a sliding rectangular drawer, with two turned bronze draft chimneys with hanging loops and a ventilation opening on the sole.

Glowing embers or a metal plate heated to high temperature were placed inside to maintain heat during use.

European work from the 18th century, intended for the pressing of refined garments of the period.

The condition is excellent and the photographs faithfully reflect its state of preservation.
