Description from the seller
Vintage elephant and Orientalist statue tabletop clock
This extraordinary tabletop clock features a majestic elephant topped by a mahout figurine in a patinated alloy, standing erect and dynamic with its trunk raised. Sitting atop the elephant is a detailed oriental-style statue, dressed in traditional robes, holding a dial adorned with cherub-like figures at the summit. The piece combines clock functionality with decorative sculptural art, typical of mid-20th-century revival styles.
Circa 1950-1970.
Material: alloy with a gold/bronze finish
This piece is an excellent focal point for a classical fireplace or study. To preserve its shine, wipe only with a soft, dry cloth and avoid abrasive polishes that could damage the aged patina.
The clock features a white dial with Roman numerals and a finely decorated heart motif; on the back is visible the hand-wound mechanism with the corresponding regulating key.
Conditions
The item presents overall good cosmetic condition with a patina that underscores its vintage look; The clock has been serviced and is in working order.
A striking piece of furniture with a strong visual impact, ideal for collectors or to add an exotic and elegant touch to any setting.
