Two porcelain Imari plates decorated with a colorful bird and flowers.
Japan, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
Both plates are hand-painted with underglaze cobalt blue, complemented by overglaze iron-red and gold accents. The reverse is decorated with simple blue trailing lines.
First plate: 23 cm, 555 g. Hairline crack (see photos 9 and 10).
Second plate: 22.4 cm, 520 g. Minuscule hairline (see last two photos).
In good condition. Normal traces of age and use.
