Bookends - Wood, Brass

Set of two antique wooden supports with rich relief and painting, featuring a blue-yellow checkered frame and heraldic figures in the middle. The whole has a folk art / historicizing look and seems handmade and patinated from 1880-1900, Germany. The clamp can be folded shut to hide it.

The back and underside show signs of age and wear, which is typical for an antique or vintage object. Due to their shape and construction, they are suitable as bookends, but they could also have been used as decorative display supports or small presentation pieces.

Condition: clear signs of use, paint wear and patina consistent with age and use.
