Description from the seller
Pair of Antique Cast Iron Glue Pots / Double Boiler Hide Glue Pots – Workshop Joinery Tools – Made in Poland – Early 20th Century – In mint condition – No reserve.
A beautiful and authentic pair of large antique cast iron glue pots, also known as traditional double-boiler hide glue pots, used by cabinetmakers, carpenters, furniture restorers, and professional woodworkers during the early 20th century.
These heavy workshop tools were essential for preparing and keeping animal hide glue at the correct working temperature without burning it. The larger outer pot was filled with hot water, while the smaller inner pot held the glue—creating a safe and efficient bain-marie system for traditional woodworking and veneer restoration.
This set consists of two substantial cast iron pots with original forged iron swing handles. Their robust industrial form and beautiful aged patina make them not only functional historical tools, but also highly decorative collector’s objects for rustic, industrial, farmhouse, or traditional interiors.
Such original glue pots are increasingly difficult to find in this complete condition, especially as a matching pair. A wonderful addition for collectors of antique tools, woodworking memorabilia, or early industrial design.
These pieces come from an old private collection and have been carefully preserved. Heavy quality cast iron with strong visual presence and excellent decorative appeal.
Condition
In mint antique condition.
No cracks, no structural damage, and both handles are strong and stable.
Professionally cleaned and well preserved with attractive authentic surface patina.
