Description from the seller

A magnificent Art Deco silver-plated vase from Denmark, accompanied by its original glass insert. The vase was given as a 50th anniversary gift in 1937 and was produced between 1929 and 1932.

The front is monogrammed with the initials A.R., together with the engraved date 1887 – 23/6 – 1937, marking the anniversary occasion for which the piece was presented.

The design is elegant and refined, featuring a gently tapered body standing on a stepped circular base. Around the upper section runs a decorative band in relief, and the clear glass insert sits neatly within the silver-plated mount.
The combination of polished silver plating and the clear glass in an Art Deco design makes this piece stand out most beautifully.

On the underside, the vase is marked with the FDG torch hallmark, DENMARK, and the maker’s mark M.
-The FDG mark refers to Fællesrepræsentationen for Danmarks Guldsmede (The Common Representation of Danish Goldsmiths). This organization introduced the torch mark in 1929 as a quality mark for silver-plated items produced by its members. The rights to the torch mark were transferred to the Foreningen af Sølvpletfabrikanter around 1932, and the presence of the FDG initials within the mark generally indicates a production period, approximately 1929–1932.
The vase was therefore produced during this period and later engraved and presented as an anniversary gift in 1937.

Condition:
Lovely condition with a light patina. The glass insert is in great condition with no chipping, cracks, or breaks. There are some internal scratches from earlier use, but nothing distracting. The silver plating shows light wear around some edges. Overall, the vase looks fantastic and displays beautifully.

Measurements:
Height: 21 cm
Top diameter (glass): 11 cm
Base diameter: 9.5 cm

A beautiful Danish Art Deco vase with its original glass insert, combining elegant design, historical engraving, and early 20th-century silver-plated craftsmanship.

Please take a good look at the photos, which are an integral part of the description.

This lot will be carefully packed so it will get to its new owner exactly as it should.
