Lot description
The Object:
Magnificent étagère (or plant stand) in Transition / Louis XV style, dating from the early 20th century (circa 1900-1910). This occasional piece rests on three curved feet linked by a low, richly carved stretcher featuring openwork organic motifs.
The Top:
The crest is adorned with a stunning brecciated marble top in warm tones (ochre, white and Siena), perfectly set into a circular wooden moulding. The marble is in excellent condition.
Restoration & Condition:
This piece has been fully restored. The wooden structure has been reinforced and finished with a matte color of “Terre d’Ombre,” giving it a sober, contemporary look while emphasizing its classical lines. The join beneath the top (see photos) confirms antique, authentic artisan fabrication.
Condition: Excellent after restoration. Ready to be placed in a chic or bohemian interior.
