Two volumes bound in full black morocco by the publisher, the boards bearing a blind-embossed scene of animals boarding Noah's Ark with a gilded figure, gilt top edges, 909 and 948 pages, with plates outside the text by Gustave Doré. Text in two columns ornamented by H. Giacomelli. Text translated into French from the Vulgate by J.-J. Bourassé and P. Janvier, canons of the Metropolitan Church of Tours, approved by His Excellency the Archbishop of Tours.
