Buddha Smiling with Five Children (Wuzi Buddha) – Republic of China Era
Splendid and imposing polychrome porcelain statue dating from the Republic of China period (1912-1949), depicting the laughing Buddha (Budai) surrounded by five children (Wuzi), a traditional symbol of prosperity, happiness and numerous offspring.
The piece is finely hand-decorated with enamels from the "Pink Family", characterized by a serene expression and lively details on the children's garments.

• Subject: Happiness Buddha with 5 children (Five Sons).
• Era: Republic Period (early 20th century).
• Material: Chinese porcelain hand-decorated.
• Height: 25 cm.
Condition:
The object is overall in good aesthetic condition, but shows two signs of age as highlighted in the attached photos:
1. A hairline crack on the back of the head.
2. A hairline crack on the base.
