Description from the seller

1. Double-Handled Amphora Vase
Reference No. 7023/RO | Backstamp: Herend Hungary Handpainted, “ND”
This magnificent two-handled amphora vase is a showpiece of the Herend Rothschild Bird collection. Crafted from fine white porcelain, it features sweeping scroll handles touched with 24-karat gold at their bases. The bulbous body is hand-painted with the signature Rothschild narrative: songbirds perched among lush green oak foliage, suspended pearl necklaces draped from branches, and a vivid scatter of butterflies and insects in jewel-bright colors. The wide flared neck is trimmed in gold, and the piece rests on a footed base with a delicate gold ring. Every motif is unique to this piece, a hallmark of Herend’s tradition of hand-painting. Approximately 20 cms tall.

2.Oval Sandwich / Serving TrayReference No. 436/RO | Backstamp: Herend Hungary Handpainted, “10 / A2001”This elegant oval tray is a functional yet decorative centerpiece, featuring the full Rothschild Bird tableau at its heart — two robins perched on a gnarled branch amid oak leaves, with the famed pearl necklace draped below. The surface is scattered with hand-painted bees, moths, and vividly colored butterflies in blue, pink, and yellow. The raised basketweave border is accented with gilded acanthus leaf scrollwork at each end, and a fine gold rim edges the entire piece. The tray has integrated tab handles, gently curved, also detailed in gold. The backstamp reveals it was produced in 2001. Approximately 37 cms long

3. Trumpet / Bud Vase (Footed)
Reference No. 7077/RO | Backstamp: Herend Hungary Handpainted, “EI”
This graceful trumpet vase rises dramatically from a compact circular foot to a wide, flared opening trimmed in 24-karat gold. The slender conical body is hand-painted with a richly detailed Rothschild Bird scene: two songbirds — a greenfinch and a chaffinch — perched on flowering branches amid large tropical-style leaves, with a delicate pearl chain swinging between them. Above, a large hand-painted moth with yellow and pink wings floats near the gilded rim. Scattered insects and butterflies complete the composition. The clean white porcelain background makes the vivid polychrome decoration particularly striking. Approximately 23 cms tall.

4. Salad Plate
Reference No. 7025/RO (with earlier Meissen-style crossed-paintbrush mark visible, indicating older production)
This beautifully proportioned plate features an embossed (“Osier”) basketweave border with scrolling floral relief, a hallmark of Herend’s most refined tableware shapes. At its center sits a hand-painted songbird — likely a marsh tit — perched on a cherry branch, rendered with exceptional naturalistic detail in brown, buff, and black. The scalloped rim is edged in gold, and three small botanical and insect vignettes dot the raised border. The reverse shows an older-style crossed-paintbrush mark (similar to Meissen’s), suggesting this plate predates the full shield-and-paintbrush backstamp era, potentially from the mid-20th century, making it slightly more collectible. Approximately 22cms diameter.
