Pale celadon nephrite jade pendant Hotei Buddha - China- late 20th Century
On offer is a superb and beautiful deep carved pale celadon nephrite jade thick pendant. It has a detailed carved quality Chinese Hotei Buddha figure, who is actually an enlightened Chinese Buddhist monk. Sometimes referred to as laughing or happy Buddha. Excellent light-green monochrome piece of jade with an excellent quality carving (please see pictures) on both sides. At the back side also a subtle high quality carving. At top of the pendant also nice carving with a subtle hole for a hanging-cord. This jade is created by a skilled professional and is an expensive and rare find!
Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color. Provenance: This particular one comes from inland China. a Valuable and rare jade, very suitable as an addition to your high-end collection or to present as a gift!
