A 742 Masterpiece fountain pen with a gold‑plated body in a brushed pattern, black resin grip, a 14K gold nib, 12.9 cm long and 1.1 cm in diameter, serial number 742, made in Germany in the second half of the 20th century, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
The fountain pen is presented in very good overall condition, notably for its attractive entirely gold-plated finish with a brushed pattern, which maintains an intense and uniform shine, enhancing its elegant and classic character.
The body shows light signs of use typical of the passage of time, visible only under close inspection, in the form of micro-surface marks. No major dents or deformations are evident, maintaining excellent structural integrity.
The cap, with integrated clip, is well fitted and functional, preserving correct alignment. The engravings and decorative details remain sharp and well defined.
The black resin section is in good condition, with light signs of use appropriate to its age, without cracks or structural damage.
The 14C (585) gold nib is in very good condition, with correct alignment and no noticeable deformations. The piston-fill system has been checked and functions correctly, ensuring smooth and secure loading.
Overall, this is a well-preserved specimen, fully functional and ready for use or collection, with a highly striking aesthetic presence.
Care recommendations
It is recommended to use high-quality inks specific for fountain pens, avoiding pigmented inks. If not in prolonged use, rinse with lukewarm water, dry carefully before storing, and keep in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Always operate the filling system gently to preserve its internal mechanics.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation. Happy bidding!
