The Goblin Teasmade de luxe is an automatic tea-maker from around 1970, originating in the United Kingdom, in vintage style and made of plastic, ceramic and metal with chrome-plated copper, measuring 20 cm high by 38 cm wide, in white and creme and as a single item in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Automatic Teasmade device from the British company Goblin, made around 1970. It is adjustable via an alarm clock on the front left. To its right there is a selector switch. At the back on the right a ceramic teapot, at the back on the left a chrome-plated pressure vessel for heating the tea water.
At the front, left and right, a light column, which can be switched on or off as desired.
The device is in excellent condition, with only very light signs of use. It is also fully functional, right up to the rotating second hand on the clock.
The device is equipped with a tray, which at the front can be easily detached or attached to the device. This tray was available as an optional extra from Goblin.
The Goblin Teasmade was a common appliance on the nightstand in the 1960s and 70s. It was an electric device in which an alarm could be set so that the water in the kettle automatically boiled and was poured into the teapot. This meant you did not have to leave your bed to enjoy your first cup of tea. Everything was done for you, except pouring in milk or adding sugar. The model offered here had a detachable front tray for your teacups, saucers, milk jug and sugar pot.
All in all a particularly industrial design, which is also very illustrative of the living and lifestyle culture around 1970. With only the clock and/or the lighting in use, it is also an exceptional object suitable as a night light and/or clock in the bedroom.
Shipped by registered mail, insured and professionally packed; pickup in Alkmaar (Netherlands) is also an option.
