Elegant devotional statue depicting the Virgin Mary in a prayerful pose, with hands joined and the rosary descending along the drapery of the dress. The figure is portrayed according to traditional Marian iconography, with blue veil and light garments, symbols of purity and the celestial dimension of Mary in Catholic tradition.
The posture, slightly tilted upward with a serene and contemplative expression, recalls representations of the Immaculate Mary widespread in European sacred art from the 17th century and particularly popular in devotional sculptures of the 19th and 20th centuries.
