Three objects in a set, made of glass with tin elements and amber glass, designed by Felipe Derflingher and manufactured by Feders in Mexico, dating to around 1960–1970 in a Mid-Century Modern Brutalist, with a tin overlay.
Description from the seller
carafe, manufactured by the well-known Dutch manufacturer Royal Holland Daalderop around the 1930s.
The carafe is characterized by the combination of hammered tin (pewter) and amber-colored glass. The design is based on the distinctive "pinched" or "dimple" bottles, a form that originally gained popularity with Haig's Scotch whisky.
Key Features:
Origin: Made in the Netherlands (Zeist) by Daalderop, often marked with "Royal Holland Pewter" or "KMD".
Material: Hand-blown amber glass with an overlay of hammered tin on the base, neck and cap.
Style: Art Deco / Mid-Century Modern
2 Glasses
Unique type of glassware known as "Imprisoned Glass" (or cage glass) is a distinctive design by the Mexican artist Felipe Derflingher from the 1960s and 70s.
The glass is produced in a Brutalist style, where molten glass is blown into a metal cylinder with geometric cutouts. The heat shapes the metal, creating a robust, almost medieval appearance.
Features of this glassware
Designer: Felipe Derflingher (often associated with the Feders brand).
Material: Hand-blown amber glass encased in a metal (often brass or copper) "cage".
Style: Mid-Century Modern Brutalism.
Unique: Because it is handmade, each piece is unique; the glass bulges outward in different ways through the openings in the metal.
