Description from the seller
A breathtakingly beautiful antique silver pill box, representing the pinnacle of Belle Époque craftsmanship (c. 1910). This magnificent piece features a lid of exquisite mint-green/white guilloché enamel, serves as a canvas for a meticulously hand-painted scene of a vibrant blue butterfly fluttering among delicate pink roses and lush greenery. The box is crafted from high-grade 900 silver, boasting a substantial weight and impressive tactile quality. The sides are adorned with intricate engraved floral scrolls, while the interior is lavishly finished with a warm gold wash (vermeil). This rare and elegant vanity accessory is a masterwork of Central European enameling, likely originating from the workshops of Vienna or Pforzheim, making it a premier addition to any fine silver or antique enamel collection.
