Handmade wooden design lamp from Norway, dating to 1970–1980, in a Mid-century Modern style, in working order and in as-new condition.
Description from the seller
Handmade design lamp in a Nordic style, with a sculptural and organic form.
With a height of 35 cm and a width of 25 cm, the lamp has a restrained yet clear presence.
The design aligns with the Scandinavian design history of the 20th century, in particular the modernism of the 1940s–1960s, in which light was seen as mood carrier and natural materials were preferred over decoration. The flowing lines and the use of wood reference the humanistic approach of designers such as Alvar Aalto and peers, where functionality and emotion come together.
Each lamp is handmade, giving the object an artisanal character and distinguishing it from mass production. As a result, the lamp not only functions as lighting but also as a small sculptural design object within the interior.
