Beautiful, authentic antique coal scuttle (also called purdonium) from the late 19th century (circa 1880/1900). This classic Victorian model is made of black-lacquered metal and is in a beautiful, characterful condition.

The scuttle features the distinctive 'slope front' (slanted lid), adorned with richly decorated, pierced brass fittings. Also the sturdy, curved handle on top is made of brass. The scuttle sits on elegant metal feet that give the piece an elegant appearance.

Prachtige, authentieke antieke kolenbak (ook wel purdonium genoemd) uit de late 19e eeuw (ca. 1880/1900). Dit klassieke Victoriaanse model is vervaardigd uit zwart gelakt metaal en verkeert in een mooie, karaktervolle staat.

De bak is voorzien van het kenmerkende 'slope front' (schuin aflopende klep), versierd met rijkelijk gedecoreerd, gestanst messing beslag. Ook het robuuste, gebogen handvat bovenop is uitgevoerd in messing. De bak staat op sierlijke, metalen pootjes die het geheel een elegante uitstraling geven.
