Val Saint Lambert – Porto / Whiskey set ‘Muscadet’ with carafe and six glasses.

Modernist carafe of the Porto / whiskey service ‘Muscadet’ in transparent crystal glass doubled with green crystal. Also six associated cordial glasses executed in the same color. Carafe and glasses are described in the Val Saint Lambert catalog of 1950 (see illustration). The carafe and one of the glasses carry remnants of a VSL sticker.

This is the Muscadet model designed by Charles Graffart, artistic director of the Val-Saint-Lambert crystal factory from 1942 to 1958.

Carafe and glasses are in excellent condition with only normal to minor signs of aging. The stopper is numbered 3 on the underside, and the number corresponds to the number engraved in the neck of the carafe.

Height of the carafe is 23.5 cm, base diameter 15 cm. The glasses are 7 cm high.
