Montblanc Masterpiece 644-G fountain pen in black resin with a gold-plated cap and 14K gold nib, piston-fill mechanism, made in Germany in the mid-1950s, in good condition.
Description from the seller
A0000003172
The Montblanc Masterpiece 644-G fountain pen is presented in very good overall condition, keeping intact the elegance and presence typical of this classic 1950s model.
The black resin body preserves a deep, uniform shine, with light micro-scratches inherent to use and the passage of time, visible only under certain light, with no cracks, deformations, or visible repairs.
The gold-plated cap, with its characteristic longitudinal grooving, is well preserved, with a uniform shine and very moderate wear appropriate to the piece’s age. The gold bands are complete and properly seated. The Montblanc emblem at the top is intact, well centered, and with a lovely ivory tone characteristic of the era.
The 14K gold nib, marked 4810 with the Montblanc logo, is complete and original, with no cracks or visible deformations, retaining an attractive natural patina. The ebonite feed is correct for the model and remains intact.
The piston-filling system is present and complete. Its internal operation has not been tested, so, as is customary with vintage pens, a pre-use review or maintenance is recommended.
Overall, this is an authentic pen, well cared for and with excellent presence, very suitable for collection or for use after inspection, faithfully representing the quality and prestige of the Montblanc Masterpiece line.
It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
Good luck with the auction!
