Ritual whistle - Bena Lulua - DR Congo

A small mother figure. The head is hollowed out and on both sides, in the ears, small holes have been made. When blowing into the cavity at the top, a flute-like tone is produced, which can be altered by whether or not the side holes are closed.
In the neck there is a hole provided for a cord to wear the flute around the hand.
Characteristic of the Luluwa are the scarifications.
For collectors of musical instruments this is an exceptional opportunity. Such specimens are rare.
