This colorful lithograph titled “Noord-Holland” is a work by Corneille (1922–2010), one of the co-founders of the CoBrA movement (along with Karel Appel and Constant, among others). His work is characterized by vibrant colors, playful shapes, and recurring themes such as birds, women, and exotic landscapes.
This lithograph, printed in 2004, is numbered from an edition of 200 and is in excellent condition. The work has never been framed, which has kept the colors particularly fresh.
Corneille’s art remains beloved worldwide for its expressive style and optimistic feel — Overijssel is a beautiful example of his late, mature period in which color and imagination are central.
