This colorful lithograph titled “Friesland” is a work by Corneille (1922–2010), one of the co-founders of the CoBrA movement (together with, among others, Karel Appel and Constant). His work is characterized by vibrant colors, playful shapes, and recurring themes such as birds, women, and exotic landscapes.
This lithograph, printed in 2004, is numbered from 200 copies and is in excellent condition. The piece has never been framed, which has kept the colors particularly fresh.
Corneille’s art remains globally loved for its expressive style and optimistic appearance — Friesland is a fine example of his late, mature period in which color and fantasy are central.
