Description from the seller

This is an Ikul (or Ikula), a traditional ceremonial short sword or knife of the Kuba people (also known as Bakuba) from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

It is characterized by a leaf-shaped blade and a wooden handle finished with a rounded knob.

In Kuba culture, the Ikul is a symbol of mature manhood and social status. Historically, every adult Kuba man wore such a knife.
