Description from the seller

Beautiful old 4/4 violin, with the label Joannes Baptiste Guadagnini, for further text see photos. It was probably made around 1900 in France. What is remarkable is its very light weight, at 400 g, which is uncommon and probably also explains its full tone and its direct response to the drawn bow. The instrument had a crack at the underside of the right sound hole, which was professionally repaired and has interior reinforcements. The violin has been newly strung and has a new bridge, so it is ready to play. Its measurements are 60.0 cm, 36.2 cm, 17.3 cm, 11.8 cm, 21.2 cm, with a vibrating string length of 32.5 cm. The vibrating top is made from Alpine spruce, the back is from a single piece of deeply flamed maple as are the ribs and the neck. Delivered with a beautiful wooden hard case, in a particularly good condition. Carefully packed, the instrument will be shipped with Colissimo, traceable online.

As 'certified' or 'attributed' violins and bows contain pictures of their certificates and thus show a higher degree of documented security regarding maker, origin and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we offer no guarantee
