Mirosław Nowiński was born in 1979 in Sandomierz. Painting became his passion already in his youth. As far back as he can remember, he tried his hand at this field of art. Nowiński is a self-taught artist. He acquired all the knowledge of painting technique independently through individual experiments with color, perspective, and form. His life is a constant process of refining his technique. He strives to find optimal methods that will allow him to translate his visions and concepts onto the canvas.
Mirosław Nowiński – art based on abstraction
Mirosław Nowiński creates paintings that are the result of a unique blend of painting directions. The artist masterfully mixes abstraction, expressionism, surrealism, and symbolism. A large part of Nowiński’s works depicts a playful approach to form. The painter often rejects traditional rules of perspective and favors simplified compositional elements. He paints geometric, colorful structures that form dynamic arrangements. This is a technique typical of cubism, of which Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso were early pioneers.
Nowiński’s art presents everyday scenes enriched with elements of magical realism. A frequent motif in his works is meetings of lovers and music. In the artist’s works, the human figure dominates. The portrayed characters are not idealized. Yet it’s worth taking a closer look at the faces of the protagonists, which, though seemingly calm and gentle, radiate emotion. The gaze and facial expressions indicate the feelings accompanying them.
Nowiński’s works feature a rich color palette enclosed in dreamy, dreamlike compositions. His paintings stand out with a distinctive style that the artist developed independently, based on years of experimentation with acrylic on canvas. His works are characterized by rich, intense coloring. The artist relies on blues, greens, yellows, pinks, reds, and oranges. Muted, somewhat subdued colors are used as a background. Lively and saturated hues are employed to create the figures that dominate the composition.
In his works, Mirosław Nowiński also presents landscapes and vedute inspired, among others, by European cities (e.g., Venice and Paris). He also creates portraits, such as Frida Kahlo, the Mexican painter who, much like the Polish artist, produced cubist, surrealist, and symbolic works. The artist’s paintings have a unique atmosphere. They are dreamlike compositions filled with fantastical and symbolic elements. Nowiński’s works have a fairy-tale quality. The artist draws inspiration from daily life, as well as his own experiences, dreams, and fantasies.
