Beautiful watercolor by Belgian artist Alphonse Ernest Pecquereau (1831–1917)
This atmospheric impressionist city or park view shows figures under trees with buildings in the background – typical of Pecquereau's oeuvre. He specialized in Antwerp and Belgian cityscapes, markets and landscapes, and worked in a light, airy style.
• Artist: Alphonse (Ernest) Pecquereau (Valenciennes 1831 – circa 1917)
• Medium: Watercolor / mixed media on paper
• Signature: Signed lower right “A. Pecquereau”
• Frame: Beautiful antique gilded profile frame (well preserved)
• Condition: The work is in good condition, with natural aging of the watercolor. No major damage, tears or stains. The frame shows normal signs of use.
