Description from the seller

Splendid Antique Salad Cutlery Set in Horn and 800 Silver - Italy, 19th Century

For sale this refined pair of salad serving utensils (spoon and three-tine fork), a perfect example of period craftsmanship that combines natural premium materials with noble metals.
:
• Materials: The functional parts (the spoon's bowl and the fork's tines) are made from natural horn. This material, renowned for its beauty and for not altering the flavor of foods, features stunning grain and translucent hues ranging from honey blonde to dark brown, as visible in the photos.

• Handles: The handles are in solid silver weighing about 70 g, with an elegant and sober form, finished with a decorative bezel at the junction with the horn.

• Provenance and Era: On both handles, near the bezel, the hallmark "800" is clearly visible inside a rectangular cartouche. This mark identifies silver with 800 thousandths fineness and is characteristic of Italian production.

• Condition: The items are in good vintage condition. They show the usual patina on the silver, which can be polished at the buyer's discretion, and light signs of use on the horn, attesting to their authenticity and age without compromising functionality or aesthetics.
