A set of four hand-painted ceramic decorative plates in a Mediterranean style, dating from ca. 1960, each with a diameter of ca. 22 cm.
Description from the seller
An atmospheric and characterful set of four hand-painted decorative plates in Mediterranean style, richly decorated with lively floral and natural motifs. Each plate is uniquely executed and reflects the artisanal character of traditional Southern European ceramics.
The set includes, among others, a plate originating from Rhodes (Greece), recognizable by the blue-and-white palette and traditional motifs, as well as a Spanish hand-painted plate in the typical Talavera style with warm colors and floral decoration. The remaining plates harmoniously complement this and enhance the Mediterranean whole.
All plates are individually hand-painted and show visible brushstrokes, resulting in subtle variations in color and decoration. This underscores the authentic and artisanal character of the set.
The combination of different styles, colors, and edge finishes (three with blue rims and one with a white rim) gives the set a playful and decorative total, ideal for wall display.
Interior advice:
These sets look particularly striking in:
* Mediterranean interior – warm, natural ambiance with earth tones and light walls.
* Bohemian / Ibiza style – playful, colorful, and artistic
* Classic interior – as a decorative accent on a calm wall.
* Rural / modern rural – as a colorful focal point.
* Eclectic interior – perfect to combine with other art objects.
Especially on a stark white wall the colors come into their own and a luxurious, gallery-like appearance emerges.
