Description
This vibrant original silkscreen print was created by the internationally acclaimed Japanese abstract artist Kumi Sugai (1919–1996). Sugai was a key figure of the École de Paris, renowned for developing a distinctive geometric visual language that bridges Eastern aesthetics with Western modernism.

Executed using a high-quality silkscreen technique on paper, the work is defined by its crisp contours and intense, flat color fields. This piece reflects Sugai’s celebrated “Sign” period, during which he drew inspiration from road signage and industrial iconography, transforming them into refined abstract compositions.

The composition presents a dynamic yet balanced arrangement of bold red, yellow, and green geometric forms set against grey diagonal stripes. Despite its compact size, the work delivers a strong visual impact, making it ideal for a gallery wall or an elegant desk display.

Sugai’s works are held in major international collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. His market remains active and stable, particularly within the European art scene.
