Ü-Keramik H. 35 cm vase, model 394/35, height 35 cm and width 21 cm, ceramic from West Germany dating to 1960–1970, with a matte light grey base glaze hand-painted with an anthracite grey line motif and a black glazed interior, in excellent vintage condition.
Description from the seller
This stylish vase is produced by Ü-Keramik. The shape (model) dates from 1957, but the decoration is from a later date, probably from the late 1960s / early 1970s.
Model 394/35, height 35 cm, belly diameter 21 cm.
White clay over which a matte base glaze in light gray has been applied and then hand-painted with a line motif in anthracite gray.
The inside of the vase is glossy glazed in black.
Ü-Keramik was founded in 1909 by tin caster Johann Übelacker. The tin foundry, located in Ransbach-Baumbach, soon acquired the neighboring earthenware factory. The tin foundry made the lids for the earthenware beer fixtures.
Mid-1950s, after the death of Johann, the company came into the hands of his three sons. Since then it stopped tin casting and continued manufacturing vases, bowls, ashtrays, candlesticks and plant pots.
Sales peaked with the presentation of the catalog published in March 1957.
The offered items could be ordered in different sizes and in 12 different decors.
In that catalog vase 394 is offered in 5 sizes (30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 cm). The 394/30 could be ordered in 16 different decors and the taller vases in 10 different decors.
Very good vintage condition. No chips, no cracks.
