Description from the seller
Artisanal liturgical mitre for bishops and cardinals.
Head circumference measurement (medium fit): about 56 cm.
Dimensions: height 27 cm (with the top spikes, maximum height 67 cm)
Width max 34 cm
Made in the contemporary era (post-2000), it stands out for its sober elegance and meticulous detailing, in line with the liturgical tradition of the Catholic Church. The structure follows the classic decorated Latin mitre, with two well-defined peaks and a harmonious, balanced shape, supported by an internal rigid core that ensures stability and proper wearing during ceremonies.
The main fabric features a refined ivory-white tone, with a fine, regular weave. The surface is embellished with gilded galloons applied with great precision: two vertical bands run from the top to the base, framing the smooth central section, while a horizontal gilded band runs along the base of the mitre, creating an elegant and solemn visual balance. The finishes are meticulous, with regular, well-executed stitching indicative of careful artisanal craftsmanship.
The rear tails, in coordinated white fabric, are 40 cm long and finished with a thin gilded fringe, which adds a further touch of value without being excessive.
Overall, the item is in excellent condition: the fabrics are clean and well maintained, with only slight creases on the tails due to storage, easily removable. No significant signs of wear are evident other than normal liturgical use. The structure retains its shape perfectly.
Thus, this mitre represents a liturgical vestment of great dignity and stylistic balance, suitable both for use in episcopal and cardinal celebrations and as a collectible piece for those who appreciate contemporary sacred art and ecclesiastical textile tradition.
