Description from the seller

This figurine is a classic representation of Napoleon I, recognizable by its typical imperial iconography.

Posture: He is depicted in his famous pose, arms crossed, wearing his colonel’s uniform of the Grenadiers at the Foot of the Imperial Guard, including fringed epaulettes.

Attributes: The famous bicorne hat is worn “in battle” (parallel to the shoulders), as well as his sword whose guard is gilded.

The Pedestal/Base: The pedestal bears the monogram “N” surmounted by the imperial crown, surrounded by a laurel wreath, symbolizing victory and imperial rank.

Material: It appears to be regulé, an alloy cheaper than bronze, often used for reproductions with a dark patina. Some details, like the base and the sword, show gilding.

The underside (the base): The underside shows an old assembly. The wooden block inserted inside the metal base is typical of 19th-century or early 20th-century decorative objects. One can see a fastener system with a threaded rod and a square nut, which suggests artisanal or semi-industrial manufacture of the period.

Condition: There is some patina wear (and dust!), which is normal for an old object.
