European school (XIX) - Portrait

Oil on canvas artwork, on the original canvas, by an unknown Anglo-Saxon artist in the mid-19th century, depicts a portrait of a noble figure, certainly executed from life, as was the custom of those times to pass a memory to one’s relatives. The gentlemanly appearance, the slender figure and the elegant attire attest to a certain aristocracy well expressed in the painting. The condition is fairly good; the only scuffed parts do not compromise the figure and are correctly indicated with a ruler. The valuable period frame completes the piece and measures cm 76-63, the canvas alone measures cm 63-49.
