Description from the seller

An antique, old paperweight made of mineral stone or glaze in black. The front of the paperweight is finished with a glossy glaze, the back is matte.
On the front, a metal medal with the bust of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria and the dates 1914-1915. The medal looks as if it were silver or silver-plated, although I’m not certain.
On the medal you can find the inscription Ges. Gesh. (patent-protected design) and A.K., which may be the initials of the designer or the manufacturer.
The bas-relief is very carefully executed and has many beautiful details.
On the mineral stone there are blurred, faint inscriptions: Republike Ceske and dates, among others 1915.
The item probably originates from the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
