Set of 12 vintage cordial glasses in silver-plated metal with vermeil interior, produced in Japan in the 1950s–1960s, each 9 cm high and 5 cm in diameter, with light wear and a tarnish-protected finish.
Description from the seller
Elegant set of 12 vintage cordial glasses, made in brightened metal with vermeil interior (gold-plated inside). The set, produced in Japan ('Product of Japan') in the mid-20th century, stands out for its rich raised decoration and refined handcrafted finish.
Design and Ornament: Each glass features a delicately hooded body with floral motifs, grapevines, and shells in a Neoclassical/Baroque style. The cup rests on a slender stem ending in a circular base with gadrooned decoration.
Materials: Silver-plated metal with a gold-plated interior of the cup. The inner gilding not only serves an aesthetic purpose but historically protected the metal from the acidity of beverages.
Technical Features: As indicated by the original label on the bottom of one of the glasses, the set is 'Tarnish Protected' (treated against oxidation), which facilitates maintenance and only requires a damp, soft cloth.
A complete and visually striking set, perfect for serving liqueurs or spirits after meals or as a prestigious display piece on a bar cabinet.
Quantity: 12 pieces
Origin: Japan (Condisco)
Material: Silver-plated and electroplated (EP)
Conditions: Excellent vintage condition, with a light patina that gives character to the set. Internal gilding well preserved.
Conditions: Excellent vintage condition, with minimal signs of wear (see photos)
Dimensions: 9 cm diameter, 5 cm height
Perfect for: Liqueurs, digestifs, small desserts, decoration
