Description from the seller
PLANTAS Y SOFÁ BLANCO is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. In this work, he presents an interior of vegetation where architecture and nature coexist in an exuberant harmony. A white, simple and luminous sofa appears surrounded by a domestic jungle of pots, tropical leaves and large glass windows that let in the brightness from outside. More than a room, the painting seems like an intimate greenhouse, a silent refuge where rest occurs in the midst of the vegetation.
The composition is conceived as an enveloping scene. The black lines of the glass structure rise vertically and lead the eye upward, giving height and a sense of air, while the side green masses close the space as if embracing the center. In the middle of that botanical abundance, the sofa acts as a white clearing, a visual and physical resting point within the garden. The contrast between the furniture and the plants is one of the great successes of the piece. The white upholstery conveys cleanliness, serenity and lightness, while the cushions in yellows and reds introduce small warm notes that dialogue with the terracotta floor. These chromatic accents prevent the space from feeling cold and turn it into a cozy corner, almost inhabited by an invisible presence.
Green color dominates, but not uniformly. There is a rich variety of tones: dark and dense greens in the foreground, blue-green greens on the larger leaves, luminous and yellowish greens filtering from the outside. That diversity gives depth and makes the vegetation seem alive, moist, in constant growth. The intense blue of the side walls further reinforces the freshness of the scene and creates an atmosphere of tranquil shade.
Light plays a fundamental role here. It is not dramatic light, but a diffuse garden-indoors clarity, filtered by the glass. Thanks to it, everything takes on a sense of noontime stillness: the place seems suspended, protected from external noise, transformed into a domestic sanctuary for reading, thinking, or simply being.
“Plantas y sofá blanco” is a painting about the contemporary desire for refuge and nature. The work speaks of comfort, silence and that search for spaces where the interior of the house blends with the vegetal world. The result is a fresh, elegant and deeply relaxing scene, where sitting down almost means disappearing into the green.
