Eddie Colla, Echo, an original signed work from 2026 in mixed media, a portrait of a female figure on an old wallpaper background, edition Original, 99 cm by 72 cm, sold with frame, France, street art.
Description from the seller
Parisian gallery CHENUS LONGHI presents 'Echo', an original and unseen work by artist Eddie Colla, which comes with its certificate of authenticity. In this unpublished piece, Eddie Colla composes a female figure with a strong, almost timeless presence, which seems to emerge from the support itself thanks to the transfer technique used. The choice of old wallpaper, with its decorative motifs laden with history, plays a central role: it situates the image in a troubled temporality, between intimate memory and collective narrative. The artist's work here rests on layering — images, materials, and eras — with this old frame, integrated into the composition but skewed. 'Echo' fully fits Eddie Colla's practice, where the image becomes a vector of narration, between disappearance, resistance and the persistence of traces. A very strong piece!

About the artist
Eddie Colla is an American artist active since the 2000s. Formerly a photographer and art director for different magazines such as the New York Times, he began to place his stencils and collages in California. Then, in 2012 he took to the streets of Paris before settling there permanently a short time later. His universe is marked by human figures often masked, evolving in dystopian environments. Through these characters, he addresses themes such as surveillance, resistance or isolation in our contemporary societies. He regularly exhibits in galleries in Europe and the United States, while developing in parallel a studio-based work that extends his interventions into urban space.
Eddie Colla is part of the street art movement, alongside artists such as Vhils, Invader, Shepard Fairey, JonOne, Kaws, Futura.
