Joan Rivers didn’t make jewelry prior to coming to QVC. It was a new venture – and a gamble but it paid off! What made her different was that she took the time to show her love of jewelry and its history on the air. She pulled out the Faberge books and showed us both the originals – and her knock-offs. She brought her own vintage pieces, whether Faberge, Victoriana or Art Deco, and then held them up to compare with her versions. She read aloud from books about jewelry on-air, and provided video tours of the factory showing how her jewelry was made. She chortled with glee over the replicas she made of very expensive jewelry currently selling on Madison Avenue
