Description
At the start of the game, players randomly draw one of the six characters offered by the game. They do the same by drawing a "companion".
Each character has values in three areas, each illustrated by a symbol and a color.
During their turn, you move your character to collect food, fuel, and ammunition: the resources needed to survive.
Whenever a character enters a resource zone, the player must draw a card from the Encounter deck.
Most of these encounters, including zombie fights, will require spending a resource or achieving a specific result on a die roll. Fights are resolved via a dice roll, and each "Hit" face allows you to destroy a zombie. For every zombie still standing, the player takes a fatigue point, and on the third, the hero dies.
Some encounter cards will be more positive and allow you to meet friends (new secondary character), resources, items...
Each time a player moves their piece into an empty zone, a new zombie pawn is placed on the board thereby filling it up more and more. These zombie pawns are placed face down and can represent a group of zombies. It’s only when you land on the space that you discover how many zombies are present. And then the drama: You cannot attempt anything until you have destroyed them.
When a player considers themselves ready, they can attempt to explore a zone in search of a haven to live in. At any moment, 4 zones will be available. 3 public ones placed on the board, and one private one, which each player holds in hand. These zone cards themselves have 3 kinds of increasingly difficult challenges. On the first explore we will use the first, then the second...
In keeping with the mood of the comic, you can obviously cooperate. Players helping each other form a group that shares its strengths and resources.
Indeed, you can win together...
