French five-arm candelabrum in Regulé/bronze and onyx, in good used condition with light signs of aging and spots, 36 cm high, 30 cm wide and 30 cm deep, Neo-Rococo style dating to 1940–1950 and 1950–1960.
Description from the seller
Elegant French five-arm candelabrum rendered in green-veined onyx combined with richly worked patinated metal, probably régule or bronze.
This decorative object was manufactured in the first half of the 20th century and is clearly inspired by the luxurious Napoleon III- and Neo-Rococo style.
The gracefully curved arms with floral ornamentation give the piece a refined and theatrical appearance.
The solid onyx base and central stem display a beautiful natural grain with green, cream and honey-colored nuances, typical of high-quality decorative stonework from this period.
Particularly charming are the decorative feet in animal/dolphin shapes, as well as the elaborately worked drip mouldings and candle holders. The overall impression exudes the atmosphere of classic French salon decoration from the early 20th century.
In nice vintage condition with normal signs of use and aging. At the bottom of the onyx feet there is a small chip (visible in the detail photo), minor and not detrimental to presentation or stability.
