Description from the seller
Here we present a piece of great charm and refinement, now rightfully part of the history of collecting: the Montblanc Meisterstück Classique rollerball (Model 164) in Bordeaux resin. The true added value of this writing instrument is its iconic coloration. The precious Bordeaux resin (or Burgundy) has in fact been discontinued for over two decades, making every specimen an increasingly rare and coveted object on the secondary market, especially for those seeking a warm and elegant alternative to classic black.
The body and cap blend into an unmistakable aerodynamic line, enriched by the three classic rings with a gold finish. At the top, to proclaim its belonging to the Olympus of writing, the white star emblem sits proudly. On the clip ring you can see the engraving "GERMANY" and the serial number, which confirm its authenticity. The model is a rollerball powered by the proven twist mechanism. Photographs of the disassembled piece show the internal brass threading perfectly aligned and clean, guaranteeing smooth and precise mechanical operation. The item is offered individually, without box.
The condition is good vintage, with normal signs of time that attest to its history and daily use. As it is a loved and lived-in object, the Bordeaux resin shows physiological micro-scratches on the surface. As documented with absolute transparency by the photographs, there is natural wear of the gold plating, especially visible on the tip cone, the side edges of the clip, and the three central rings, where the gilding is thinned. Despite these aesthetic marks due to use, the resin shows no breaks or structural fractures, and the pen is intact and ready to write. It is the ideal specimen for those who desire the prestige and rarity of the Bordeaux color for everyday use without too many concerns.
