Description from the seller
Anton Heyboer (1924-2005)
Due to his unconventional lifestyle, Anton Heyboer belonged to the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent lifestyle manifested itself in five marriages. He also described himself as 'the Robin Hood of the art world', referring to his high rate of art production. Heyboer trained as a mechanical engineer. After World War II he began drawing, though still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework on the basis of which his abstract artworks arose. Yet there are always figurative elements present in his paintings and etchings. Heyboer also clarified the themes of his work with texts, in which human relationships often play a role.
Dimensions of the work with frame: 49 x 63 cm
Dimensions of the work without frame: 34 x 37 cm
Framed work.
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition, we have our own in-house frame-making workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore, we use restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this service, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
