Getekend, maar onleesbaar - Box - Oak - Forest scene: deer and hops

An elongated box, a jewelry box or another kind of storage box in wood (oak) whose top and sides are adorned with plates of repoussé copper. The copper plates are attached to the wooden box with a kind of rounded rivets.

The box has 3 compartments and the lid also opens in three parts. The sides open via hinges on the side. The middle compartment opens with hinges at the rear.

The repoussé copper features very beautiful Art Nouveau–styled forest scenes, including a stag’s head, hop cones, trees and tendrils. The scene is signed bottom-right by the maker, but illegible.

In very good condition: beautiful patina. Only a very small chip in the right corner of the wooden box (see photo)
