Location: Cologne, Germany.
Material: The company was famous for its patented alloy, the "Orivit metal," which contained a high percentage of pewter (tin), antimony, copper, and a small amount of silver, designed to resemble polished silver but tarnish less. They also produced items in bronze and sterling silver for limited periods.
Production period: The Orivit brand was introduced in 1898. The company was acquired by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) in 1905, which continued using the Orivit brand on its products until 1914.
Model number: The number "2563" visible beneath the name is the model or design number for the specific item.
