Description from the seller
Splendid and elaborate Japanese Satsuma porcelain teaware dating from the 1930s-1950s. The set is a classic example of Dragonware, characterized by a majestic dragon that coils around each piece, its details hand-crafted using the Moriage technique (raised decoration).
The handles and knob lids are molded in the shape of dragon heads, with gilded finishes and vivid enamels.
Hand-painted scenes depicting 'Sages' (Arhat) and traditional figures, surrounded by densely layered geometric and floral motifs.
Excellent vintage condition. It shows no cracks or obvious repairs. Light wear to the gilding consistent with age, which authenticates its era.
