Antique 4/4 violin labelled Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi, Milano 1776, made of wood with a one-piece flame maple back, total length 595 mm, weight 0.5 kg, in good condition with some wear and no cracks, and tested and playable.

Up for auction is a nice antique 4/4 violin for professional musician or collector. The label says: Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi, nella Contrada di Santa Margarita, al Segno della Sirena, Milano 1776. The instrument remains in good condition with some tears and wears but no cracks. This is a superb sounding instrument, also very beautiful in appearance. Nice and clean made inlaid purfling. The scroll is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The original varnish of golden brown color over lighter ground remains in good condition. The softly flamed one piece maple back measures 360 mm. The total length of the violin is 595 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 165 mm; middle bouts: 112 mm; lower bouts: 200 mm. Beautiful model with a very elegant natural amber patina, very high quality of woods, perfect details all over. The sound of this instrument is of a charming character, rich, warm, sweet and beautiful colors, depth and great carrying power. Shipping worldwide insured!
